To make sure each cadet in Pacific Southwest 11 receives the opportunity for one Advance Training,  orders will be accepted
in the following manner.  Cadets can send orders in for more than one advance training, but they must list in the upper right
hand corner order of priority (Example:  Aviation #1, Field Training #2, etc).  All orders received will be registered in the
first choice training as long as availability exist.  All other orders will be place on a waiting list in order of receipt until
01 MAY 2008.  After that date, all cadets will be moved from waiting list to open billets in each advance training.

NLCC California Challenge (NDC4)
San Diego Maritime Museum, CA
22 - 28 JUN 2008
Participants will be placed in an unfamiliar environment that breaks down barriers, levels the playing field and heightens awareness creating a readiness to
learn.  In a cooperative environment, conducive to risk taking, the group will be presented with new skills and problem-solving situations leading individuals to
actively engage in the challenges at hand.    This training will encourage individuals to rely on each other, strengthening the level of trust within the group and
allow them to explore the hidden resources amongst team members creating a higher value for individual differences.  The training program provides
opportunities to climb aloft, row as a crew, abandon ship, and sail the Californian on the open ocean.  Along with learning the interdependence of tending the
ship's lines, participants engage in physical challenges, intellectual exploration, and group interaction.  Individuals may earn the opportunity to climb to the
end of the bowsprit. This training requires a larger deposit per cadet.

NLCC Field Training (NDC5)
ANG Camp Roberts, CA

This training is designed for cadets who have completed orientation training.  This rigorous training program involves physical conditioning as well as an
opportunity to develop skills as both a leader and team member.   Here are a few of the many activities you’ll experience during Field Training:
*Physical conditioning * Marksmanship training * Group and Expeditionary Leadership Activities * Field & Quarters Culinary *
* Land Navigation * Night Operations * Overnight stay in Field * CPR & Field First Aid *


NLCC SEALs Orientation (NDC6)  
PENDING 2009
This is the first time this training is being offered.  Physically Fit and Highly Modivated cadets need only apply.  
As to follow suit with the actual U.S. Navy Seals, this training is for
Male League Cadets only, minimum age 12.  
Qualifications to participate:
* Swim 250 yards + Class 3 Swimmer * Able to perform push ups, sit ups and run 1 mile on a daily basis

NLCC Basic Sailing (NDC8)
Camp Pendleton, CA
20 - 26 JUL 2008
Beginners sailing and kayaking training.  Cadets will learn the basic of sailing, kayaking and sail their own 14' by the end of training
In addition, cadets will participate in physical fitness training, first aid, CPR and swimming.  
Cadets must be a class 3 swimmer to participate.


NLCC Aviation Training (NDC7)
Naval Base San Diego, CA
27 JUL 2008 - 02 AUG 2008
NLCC Aviation Training will be a general introduction to aviation, based on  FAA and military basic flight training and instruction.  
Cadets will experience what it takes to become a private pilot, as well as how to become a military pilot.  
Daily classroom lectures and studies, tours and field trips, flying real simulators,
and actual "stick" time are all scheduled for this training.  
Unit CO's are required to screen all applicants for maturity, motivation, and ability.
Any Cadet not fulfilling those requirements will not be accepted, or sent home.
Minimum age is 12 and be an Able Cadet (LC3).  No age waivers.

2008 SUMMER TRAINING

NLCC Orientation Training (NTCA)
06 - 12 JUL 2008
This is the first training league cadets must completed prior to any advance trainings listed below.  Training will be a general orientation to the basics:  Military
Courtesy, Military Drill, Watch standing, Ships, Aircraft, Basic Swimming, Fire Prevention, Uniforms, Healthy Lifestyle, Physical Fitness, and much more.
**NLCC Staff Cadets will be needed (NLCC Leadership Training) in addition to NSCC Staff Cadets**


NLCC Leadership (NTCA)
05 - 12 JUL 2008
Cadets will be a part of the training team for Orientation training.  Hands on experience with orientation companies.  How to handle a large company; discipline,
order, incidents, praise, basic marching, and more.  Cadets will have lessons on leadership and be able to use this instruction hands on.  In addition, cadets may be
tasked to give a class during the week.   Cadets are expected to be ready to lead by example, learn and share their knowledge with others.  
Preference given to 13 year olds, 12 year olds must seek waiver from COTC to participate.
